Half of what we make is not a flower at all. It is a small, soft animal with a surprisingly specific personality. Here is a field guide to the menagerie, for anyone deciding which one is about to move onto their desk.
The classics
Ducks in every mood, from sunglasses to tiny hats. Bunnies with floppy ears and the occasional bow. Frogs in colours no real frog has attempted. These are the gateway Threadkins, and they multiply.
The cuddly heavyweights
Pandas, bears, and a highland cow with better hair than most people. Bigger presence, same soft heart. Good for someone who wants one character to anchor a shelf.
The unexpected ones
An axolotl with a permanent smile. An octopus with eight arms ready for a hug. A penguin in earphones, the unofficial desk DJ. These are the ones people photograph.
How the family grows
New characters arrive most months, each made by hand, so no two are exactly alike. Buy three and two come free, which is how a single duck becomes a small committee.
